I’ve been contemplating for some time about the amount of square footage I need to live comfortably. I want room to entertain inside and outside in a space open enough to be preparing in the kitchen and visiting with guests at the same time. Enough room to house things I need and use, but not so much room to have hiding spaces for things I’ve forgotten I own. I’d like enough room for unique overnight options,  but when guests are not in town, the room functions equally well as an office, creative space, library, or den.  This article on HOUZZ gives some of these creative and unique options and makes the idea of down-sizing a definite choice for simplifying my space.
